New Movie Poster for The Raven, Starring John Cusack

A new movie poster has just been released for the upcoming thriller The Raven, and it's the first to feature star John Cusack, who plays the famed American author of the macabre, Edgar Allen Poe.
In the image, Cusack's silhouette is darkly lit in front of a blood red image of raven wings, which seems fitting given the nature of the movie and the famous poem which informs its title — though maybe a touch derivative of the raven's smaller cousin and movie namesake The Crow.
The Raven tells the story of Edgar Allen Poe's search for a crazed serial killer, who models his murders after Poe's writings. Along with a Baltimore detective (Luke Evans), Poe uses his own stories to track down the murderer before any more lives are taken.
Director James McTeigue told Entertainment Weekly last summer a bit about Edgar Allen Poe's character and the development of The Raven.
[The killer] does one like The Murders in the Rue Morgue and The Pit and Pendulum and works through Poe’s stories in an increasingly gruesome way, whilst at the same time kidnapping his fiancé... We have real elements from Poe’s life, in and out of the story. He was a troubled figure and that’s alluded to in the film. Ultimately he becomes one of the characters in his own story.
The release date has been pushed back from March to April 27th.
