Joseph Gordon-Levitt Talks The Dark Knight Rises and Whether He'll Appear in Tarantino's Django Unchained

Joseph Gordon-Levitt will appear in four movies in 2012 — the highly-anticipated sequel The Dark Knight Rises with director Christopher Nolan; the bike messenger thriller Premium Rush; the sci-fi thriller Looper, which reunites him with his Brick director Rian Johnson; and Steven Spielberg's biopic Lincoln to end the year. Gordon-Levitt recently admitted that his incredible success as-of-late has everything to do with replacing James Franco in Nolan's 2010 blockbuster Inception.
"I wonder about that a lot," Gordon-Levitt told The Sundance Channel about his Inception casting. "Something goes one way, something goes another, you were five minutes late, etc. But Chris and me very much see eye-to-eye."
Gordon-Levitt is going to play Gotham police officer John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises, a role that many think could be more than what it seems. Gordon-Levitt publicly Tweeted the wrap of production back in November just as the Occupy Wall Street (OWS) protests were raided by police in New York City's Zucotti Park. In October, rumors spread that Nolan was going to use the protests to add to the riot scenes of The Dark Knight Rises, but Warner Bros. denied the rumors. When Gordon-Levitt was asked, he laughed off the OWS-Dark Knight Rises parallels.
The trailer isn't misleading and Nolan's not the type of guy to create a trailer that will sell you something other than what the movie is.
Also in October, Gordon-Levitt was reported to be in talks to join the cast of writer-director Quentin Tarantino's latest movie, Django Unchained in an unspecified role, but Gordon-Levitt says that he is not officially cast in the movie yet, but is hopeful he will get the part.
I hope so! I really want to do it, man. Tarantino has always been one of my very, very favorites, and just getting to know him a little bit has been such a thrill for me. He’s exactly who I wanted him to be, and that doesn’t always happen when you meet your heroes. He’s totally that guy! He’s so enthusiastic, good-natured, and just loves f**kin’ movies.
Whether or not Gordon-Levitt gets the Django Unchained role, we have a feeling that his good fortune will continue regardless.
