Teaser Poster and Banner Art for Resident Evil: Retribution

Typically, a teaser poster is released prior to a teaser trailer, but Sony Screen Gems is flipping the script for the upcoming sequel Resident Evil: Retribution, releasing a teaser trailer earlier this month and finally revealing a teaser poster as well as banner art this week.
Perhaps the order isn't that surprising considering that writer-director Paul W.S. Anderson has always gone his own way since creating the 2002 original, developing franchise character Alice (Milla Jovovich) and eschewing characters from the popular video game franchise.
Anderson eventually added game characters Jill Valentine (Sienna Guillory) and Carlos Olivera (Oded Fehr) for the 2004 sequel, Resident Evil: Apocalypse. Olivera would join Claire Redfield (Ali Larter) in 2007's Resident Evil: Extinction, and 2010's Resident Evil: Afterlife added Chris Redfield (Wentworth Miller) and brought back Valentine for an ending-credits surprise. Retribution will add Leon S. Kennedy (Johann Urb), Barry Burton (Kevin Durand), and Ada Wong (Li Bingbing) while dropping the Redfield siblings — for now. "No, Wentworth and Ali are not back, but their characters are still in the franchise," Anderson told ShockTillYouDrop recently.
Still, the banner art is all Jovovich, as she fires on unseen assailants with the tagline "think global, kill local." The recently released official synopsis revealed that Alice will once more try to bring down the evil Umbrella Corporation in a fight that would span the globe from Tokyo to Moscow, but made little mention of the end of Afterlife, which saw Alice, Chris, and Claire surrounded by a mind-controlled Valentine and a horde of Umbrella assault helicopters. The teaser poster includes both the helicopters and some of the landmarks from Retribution's "global" locations.
Retribution will bring back plenty of familiar face from the Resident Evil franchise, including Fehr, Guillory, and Jovovich, as well as Michelle Rodriguez returning as Resident Evil's Rain Ocampo, Boris Kodjoe as Afterlife's Luther, Colin Salmon as Resident Evil's One, and Shawn Roberts as Afterlife's Albert Wesker.
