First Official Photo of Daniel Craig as James Bond in Skyfall
02.01.12 by BJSprecher
We're not quite sure what that photo of Daniel Craig sitting by the pool that turned up online a few weeks ago qualifies as, but 007.com, "The Official James Bond 007 Website," has posted a new photo of Craig as Bond that it declares is the "first official shot" released from Skyfall... So guess we'll take their word for it.
According to the post, the image is from a "scene set in Shanghai," but nothing else was revealed about the scene or the plot of the movie. All we can really gather from the image is that Bond seems to have gone to Shanghai without packing his razor and that he has apparently gone back to using the classic Bond sidearm, the Walther PPK, that he first used in From Russia with Love (1963) instead of the Walther P99 that he started using in Tomorrow Never Dies (1997).
Skyfall is currently in production under the direction of Sam Mendes (Jarhead). The screenplay was written by Neal Purvis, Robert Wade (Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale), and John Logan (The Aviator). The cast includes Javier Bardem (No Country for Old Men), Naomie Harris (Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy), Ben Whishaw (The Tempest), Albert Finney (The Bourne Ultimatum), Helen McCrory (Hugo), Rory Kinnear (Quantum of Solace), and French model and actress Bérénice Marlohe.
