New Photos from Prometheus and G.I. Joe: Retaliation

Paramount released the Super Bowl spot for G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation three days prior to Sunday's big game, and has now released a new still from the upcoming sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. It's not exactly an action shot as it shows Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson as Roadblock and Bruce Willis as General Joe Colton plotting out a mission.
But like the Super Bowl ad and the first trailer, the still serves as a reminder that the sequel seems to be switching away from Channing Tatum's Duke and the cast of the first movie to a whole new group of Joes. Though missing from the photo, fan-favorite Snake Eyes (Ray Park) will still be around. Flint (D.J. Cotrona) and Lady Jaye (Adrianne Palicki) will be the main members of this Joe team instead of Rise of Cobra's Ripcord (Marlon Wayans) and Scarlett (Rachel Nichols).
Also lacking in action is the latest still from Fox's Prometheus, which shows Noomi Rapace (Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows) and Logan Marshall-Green (Devil) standing in roughly the same pose as they did in the promotional photos released last November. Still, considering the secrecy surrounding director Ridley Scott's possible prequel to Scott's 1979 sci-fi classic Alien, it's not a surprise that the latest photo would try not to spoil much from the upcoming movie.
Prometheus was written by Damon Lindelof (Cowboys and Aliens) from a script originally written by Jon Spaihts (The Darkest Hour). The cast includes Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), Charlize Theron (Young Adult), Idris Elba (Thor), Guy Pearce (The King's Speech), and Patrick Wilson (Insidious). Prometheus opens June 8th.
G.I. Joe: Retaliation was written by Zombieland screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick and directed by Jon Chu (Justin Bieber: Never Say Never). The cast includes Lee Byung-hun as Storm Shadow, Ray Stevenson as the mercenary Firefly, Elodie Yung (District 13: Ultimatum) as Jinx, Walton Goggins as Warden Nigel James, and Joseph Mazzello as Mouse. Retaliation opens on June 29th.
