The Artist Set to Stream on Netflix

Netflix may still be in a slight lull, but their recent multi-streaming deal with Weinstein Co. may help to improve things. The deal primarily features documentary and foreign-language movies, including Oscar nominee The Artist; which will exclusively be accessible to Netflix streaming subscribers in the US, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Lately, one of the biggest adjustments for Netflix has been in offering more movies available for streaming, and because a large number of their users have dropped the movie service, gaining rights to show streaming movies has been quite the obstacle. Perhaps snagging a fresh, big time movie, such as The Artist, will jump start the streaming of more popular movies. This isn't to say that new users will start using Netflix solely for the viewing purposes of the french silent movie, but it is a step in the right direction.
"It is a fantastic coup for Netflix to acquire The Artist and the package of additional titles," said TWC co-chairman Harvey Weinstein. "With this deal, a company that loves movies, Netflix, joins forces with a company that is built on that same love. It's exciting that we can offer consumers a supremely convenient way to see the kinds of movies that made us want to be in this business in the first place."
This will be Weinstein Co.'s first movie agreement with Netflix but hopefully not the last.
