Amanda Seyfried Talks About Gone and Lovelace

Amanda Seyfried may be best known for her role as a ditzy blonde in Mean Girls or a sweet, love-struck student in Dear John, but she'll prove her versatility in Gone (in theaters this weekend) and Lovelace (later this year). The actress sat down with Hit Fix to discuss her upcoming roles.
In Gone, Seyfried stars as a young woman who escapes a serial killer, though cops believe her story to be fictional, who is left to rescue her own sister that she believes has been kidnapped by the same person.
When asked why she was interested in such a different part she responded:
You need to cut what everybody thinks of you and diversify as much as possible... I love these movies. It's my favorite genre. It's why I go to the theater.
As for her other upcoming project, Lovelace, she states that there are "no connections" between the two movies but that it was "really fun stepping into someone's shoes, especially if they existed in real life." Seyfried will play famous and tragic porn star, Linda Lovelace, alongside James Franco. Movie-goers will even get to hear her sing again — this being her first big screen vocal performance since Mama Mia! in 2008.
