Vin Diesel Soars in New Riddick Set Photo

After posting a between-takes shot of himself on the set of Riddick (working title) in which he was merely in repose — "just reflecting" — franchise star and producer Vin Diesel has updated his personal Facebook page with a new behind-the-scenes set photo that is more action-oriented, befitting a movie about one of the most dangerous men in the universe. The sequel to The Chronicles of Riddick finds Riddick (Diesel) stranded on a planet supposedly devoid of life — just as in the first movie, Pitch Black. Soon, however, Riddick finds himself hunted by dangerous alien predators and a team of deadly mercenaries that he alerted to the planet after activating an emergency beacon.
Riddick was written and is being directed by David Twohy, who directed Pitch Black, wrote and directed The Chronicles of Riddick, and also helped in the writing of the 2004 made-for-DVD animated movie The Chronicles of Riddick: Dark Fury. Karl Urban (Star Trek, upcoming Dredd) returns as Vaako, joined by Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) as Dahl, Jordi Mollà (Colombiana, Knight and Day) as Santana, Matt Nable (Killer Elite) as Boss Johns, and Bokeem Woodbine (upcoming Total Recall remake) as Moss. Conrad Pla (Immortals), Raoul Trujillo (Apocalypto), Nolan Funk (Bereavement), Dave Batista (The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption), and two-time Grammy Award-nominated singer Keri Hilson also star in as-yet-unspecified roles. Riddick does not yet have a release date.
