Will Smith Answers Fans' Questions about Men in Black III
03.04.12 by Chris
It's been 10 years since the last time Will Smith donned his Men in Black suit so some moviegoers might need a refresher course about the sci-fi franchise ahead of Men in Black III hitting theaters May 25.
Smith, who plays J in the franchise, answered fans' questions on Yahoo! Movies. Smith explains to one fan what's new in this second sequel.
This movie has not only aliens, but time travel - so it sets the movie in a time and place that gives it a whole new look and feel and brand-new situations that are so much funnier because of the time period. I really believe this is the best of the three.
In MIB3, Agent J (Smith) discovers that history has been rewritten so that his partner K (Tommy Lee Jones) no longer exists. So J has to go back in time to 1969 and team up with the younger version of K, played by Josh Brolin.
And what about the 3-D?
I just saw it in 3D -- and it looks INSANE. It's the type of movie that is just supposed to be in 3D. Makes me want to go back and do the other two in 3D!
Smith also talks about putting on the black suit and Rayban sunglasses for a third time.
After you play a character twice, it's almost like riding a bike. A pretty black bike. . . . I was really surprised that, after all these years, I STILL make this look good!
So will time travel and 3-D be enough for fans to want to see Smith back playing J on the big screen? So far, we've only seen a preview trailer but we'll see more of him in action when a new full-length trailer debuts Monday.
