Emma Rosum Joins the Cast of Beautiful Creatures

Emma Rossum, of Showtimes' Shameless, has reportedly joined the cast of the upcoming big-screen adaption of Beautiful Creatures. The "supernatural love story" is based on a young-adult novel written by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl.
Richard LaGravenese will direct the movie, set to begin shooting in April, which has also cast Viola Davis (The Help), Emma Thompson (Nanny McPhee), and Jack O'Connell (Harry Brown).
Although Rossum is best-known for her current roll on TV, her acting resume also includes roles in movies such as Mystic River, The Phantom of the Opera, and The Day After Tomorrow.
The book's synopsis is as follows:
Ethan Wate is haunted by dreams of a girl he’s never met. When Lena Duchannes moves into his small southern town of Gatlin County, Ethan is inexplicably drawn to her. And he is determined to uncover the strange connection between them, even if it means uncovering the one secret that could change everything.
