Ewan McGregor Talks Jack the Giant Killer Delay; Colin Farrell Could Join Arthur & Lancelot

Scheduling might not be the only reason that Warner Bros. moved the release date for Jack the Giant Killer to next summer (from this summer) when it put the 2013 Arthur & Lancelot on hold in January.
In an interview with SlashFilm, Ewan McGregor, who plays palace guard Elmont in the movie, admitted that he hadn't seen the movie yet, then joked that the delay might have been motivated because the movie "wasn't good enough yet."
No, I haven’t seen any of it. I don’t know. I was told that it was pushed back by my agent, but I have no communication with the director or anything. I have no idea why. I assume it wasn’t good enough yet? (Laughs) So they’re tying to make it better. That’s usually what that means, but I don’t know. I might be speaking out of school there, I’m not sure. I think it’s a very complicated film to make with an enormous amount of computer generated... Obviously all of the giants are motion captured and then animated somehow, so I suppose that’s a lot of work and maybe they just got behind themselves, I don’t know.
Unfinished special effects could, in fact, be the reason why only the foot of a giant was shown in the teaser trailer for Jack the Giant Killer. But whatever the reason for the move, it seems Arthur & Lancelot is back in Warner Bros.' plans.
THR reports that Colin Farrell is in talks to play Lancelot in the movie. Joel Kinnaman was previously cast in the role, but now will be too busy playing the lead in MGM's Robocop remake. No word on whether Kit Harrington will be retained in the role of Arthur, but considering the studio's hesitancy to use unknown actors, it's likely that Farrell won't be the first recasting.
Talks with Farrell are in early stages, but should the actor be confirmed, it would be the first sign that Arthur & Lancelot is moving forward.
