The River Writer-Producer to Script Paranormal Activity 4

So far, Paramount Pictures has done everything for Paranormal Activity 4, including setting a release date and hiring back Paranormal Activity 3 directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman to helm the fourth installment. In fact, the only thing that Paramount has not done for Paranormal 4 is figure out who was going to write it. Now, that's changed too.
THR reports that Zack Estrin is set to write the script for Paranormal 4. Estrin is a writer and executive producer on the ABC TV show The River, which was co-created by fellow executive producer Oren Peli, the director of the first Paranormal Activity and the executive producer on the sequels. Paranormal franchise producer Jason Blum also works on the show. Christopher B. Landon wrote the previous two installments.
The report also claims that the deal for Schulman and Joost to return is not finalized, so, besides getting Estrin to write the script, there's plenty to do before Paranormal 4's October 19th release date. Whether the fourth installment will deal once more with siblings Katie and Kristi (played by Katie Featherston and Sprague Grayden, respectively) is unknown, as the plot details are being kept under wraps. Paranormal 3 was a prequel that followed the sisters in their early years, and earned $205 million worldwide, the highest gross of the franchise. We think it's a safe bet that we haven't seen the last of Katie and Kristi.
