Lockout's Five-Minute Clip Shows Guy Pearce in Action; Second Clip Features Maggie Grace

The upcoming sci-fi and action movie Lockout has been compared to Escape from New York because of its plot. From the looks of the movie's five-minute preview clip that debuted at WonderCon this weekend, though, we'd say comparisons to Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and Mission: Impossible -- Ghost Protocol are fair game as well.
Guy Pearce stars as Snow, a man wrongly convicted of conspiracy to commit espionage, who is offered freedom if he can rescue the the president's daughter (Maggie Grace) from a space prison (hence the Escape from New York comparisons). In the new clip, Pearce heads into a Star Wars-esque chamber to fight over a torsion system (a la the giant fan in Ghost Protocol). While Lockout may be derivative, it looks like it could be a better-than-average action movie.
A second preview clip has also been released and shows that Snow's work in the previous clip was a success, as Grace finally encounters her savior. Again, like in Star Wars, the two don't exactly get along. Feel free to add "princess" after any of Pearce's lines.
Lockout was co-written by newcomer co-directors James Mather and Stephen St. Leger) along with producer Luc Besson (The Transporter, Columbiana). Peter Stormare (Fargo, Constantine), Anne-Solenne Hatte (Callback), and Lennie James (AMC's The Walking Dead, Colombiana) also star.
