What does it take to become a successful politician? Charisma, dedication, and leadership skills are all great, but a well coiffed head of hair is almost a necessity. From the first official pic for The Campaign, it's clear that Will Ferrell's character, Cam Brady, has Barbie's boyfriend's hairstyle down pat.
The comedy, which will be released this August, follows two North Carolina politicians who are running against each other. With Zach Galifianakis as the dark-horse rival, it should be funny enough to make us forget the election-year weariness that is bound to have set in by late summer. Ferrell also teased the "ethical slip" that his character makes, telling EW, "I leave a highly sexual message on a very Christian family's answering machine, thinking I'm calling my mistress." If the Ken-doll hair wasn't enough to convince audiences to go see this movie, a creepy and inappropriate voicemail left by Will Ferrell is bound to fill seats.
The Campaign is directed by Jay Roach (Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery, Meet the Parents) and written by Chris Henchy and Shawn Harwell. Ferrell and Galifianakis have some great costars including Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, and John Lithgow.
