Zack Snyder's Man of Steel Gets a Gritty New Superman Logo

Director Zack Snyder's Superman franchise reboot, Man of Steel, has had its own Facebook page since May of last year, but it's been a pretty barren page, with only a solo image of Henry Cavill as Superman to offer eager fans. Now, Warner Bros. has updated the page with a second image, a gritty new "S" logo, and it's stirred up a bit of controversy in the
nerd fan community because it differs considerably from the classic comic book "S" logo.
We think the highly-stylized new "S" symbol looks great — and makes sense in light of costume designer Michael Wilkinson's recent comments about the changes to Superman's costume for the movie stemming from the "neo-medieval" fashion prevalent on his home planet of Krypton — but don't take our word for it. Man of Steel was written by David S. Goyer, from a story he conceived with producer Christopher Nolan. Joining Cavill are Amy Adams as Lois Lane; Diane Lane as Superman's adoptive mother, Martha Kent; Laurence Fishburne as Perry White, editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet; and Russell Crowe and Ayelet Zurer as Superman's Kryptonian parents, Jor-El and Lara Lor-Van.
