As the saying goes: If at first you don't succeed, try again with Vin Diesel.
Earlier this year, the action thriller Haywire introduced former MMA fighter Gina Carano as an action star, something critics embraced, but audiences mostly did not. For her next movie, Carano has decided to join a well-established action franchise with Fast Six. The sixth installment will continue the adventures of Diesel's Dom Toretto and Paul Walker's Brian 0'Conner while Dwayne Johnson's DSS Agent Hobbs will again be in pursuit of the franchise's anti-heroes. THR reports that Carano is in talks to play a member of Johnson's team.
Fast Five quickly became the most successful of the franchise, earning over $600 million worldwide. Screenwriter Chris Morgan and director Justin Lin, who have been in charge of the franchise since 2006's The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift, will return for the sixth installment.
In February, Carano was also cast in the action-thriller In the Blood, but, according to the report, Carano will not start working with director John Stockwell (Blue Crush) on that movie until after Fast Six finishes production.
