First Preview Clip and Two New Posters for Chernobyl Diaries

Later this month, Sony will release the action-comedy sequel Men in Black III, which reunites stars Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones for the first time in 10 years. Its sole competition at the box office that weekend? Warner Bros.' horror thriller Chernobyl Diaries, starring newcomers Devin Kelley and Jonathan Sadowski. It might seem like the deck is stacked against the latter, but horror movies draw their own audiences and Chernobyl Diaries also features the name recognition of Oren Peli, the writer-director of Paranormal Activity, who co-wrote and produced the movie.
Chernobyl Diaries follows a group of six friends who embark on an "extreme tour" of the Ukranian city of Prypiat, the site of the Chernobyl nuclear disaster, which has been deserted for over 26 years. Once in the city, the friends find themselves stranded and realize they are being hunted by whatever has been left in the city. Two new posters have been released for the movie that play off of the fear of what the radiation has done to the city, while a new preview clip shows the friends getting a view of the reactor while their tour guide (Dimitri Diatchenko) sees signs that the group isn't alone.
Co-written by Peli, Shane Van Dyke (Paranormal Entity), and Carey Van Dyke (The Day the Earth Stopped), Chernobyl Diaries is the directorial debut for visual effects supervisor Brad Parker (Let Me In). Olivia Dudley (Chillerama) and Jesse McCartney (Beware the Gonzo) co-star.
