The Wachowski's Jupiter Ascending: Channing Tatum Confirms He Will "Absolutely" Star in the "Crazy Action Movie"

It appears as if, despite the best efforts of filmmakers Andy and Lana Wachowski (The Matrix trilogy) to keep their sci-fi follow-up to Cloud Atlas under wraps, the inside source that fed juicy details about Jupiter Ascending to New York Magazine's Vulture blog was on the money. At least regarding the casting of Channing Tatum in a major role.
In a recent "MTV Sneak Peek Week" interview, Tatum confirmed that he is "absolutely" signed on to star in Jupiter Ascending.
It's going to be a crazy action movie from the [directors] who did The Matrix. They will reinvent the wheel, as far as action goes, all over again.
Assuming Vulture's source was correct about everything, Jupiter Ascending will be the first movie in a new trilogy that takes place in a universe in which "human beings are just the Cro-Magnons, or even the Australopithecines, of what beings can ultimately go on to become in the galaxy," making us rather inconsequential to the "higher forms of life" that watch us from afar. That is, until a toilet-scrubbing human female is discovered who possesses the "same perfect genetic makeup as the Queen of the Universe."
As a threat to the Queen's "otherwise immortal rule," the toilet scrubber must go, so a "bounty hunter of the evolved-being type" (Tatum) is tasked with finding her and eliminating her. Evolved or not, the bounty hunter apparenly finds the lowly human quite fetching and falls in love with her, putting himself at odds with the very monarchy he was dispatched to defend. According to Vulture, the human protagonist will be played by Mila Kunis and "an offer may soon be going out" to Joseph Gordon-Levitt for an as-yet-unspecified role (JGL as the Queen, anyone?).
