Emma Stone Talks Fame and Jim Carrey's Weird Obsession with Her

Even before Emma Stone dyed her red hair blonde (or should we say returned to her natural color?) to play Peter Parker's love interest Gwen Stacy in next month's The Amazing Spider-Man, she was on the fast-track to stardom. With Spider-Man hitting theaters in just a few weeks, Stone now is firmly planted on the A-List path.
In a new interview with Vulture, Stone talks about the pitfalls of fame, being hunted by the paparazzi, and Jim Carrey's weird obsession with her.
Stone said it's hard for her and boyfriend-Spidey co-star Andrew Garfield to leave their Chelsea apartment.
You start to notice just, like, little things. Like the people next to you taking sneaky camera-phone pictures, and you're like, "Okay, this is a thing now." ...I freak out having a Facebook.
Stone told the story of when an editor of a tabloid followed her and Garfield to their apartment and alerted photographers, who set up camp outside for over a month.
One guy told me, "This is my job. I'm going to be here every day now." I cried in front of this guy. When you hear this at eight o'clock in the morning, you're like, "Oh my God, my life as I know it is gone."
And apparently when you get famous enough, you get your own famous stalker. Last year, Jim Carrey posted a very eerie and creepy home video where he professes his love for the actress. "If I were a lot younger, I would marry you. We would have chubby, little freckle-faced kids... And the sex—" Luckily for Carrey, Stone found the entire thing flattering.
I was so flattered I can't even tell you. Honest!. I was really flattered, I really was!
Stone should prepare herself for a few more admirers after The Amazing Spider-Man hits theaters July 3. There's a whole world of boys in Spidey PJs who are about to be introduced to Ms. Stone.
