The rumors have been swirling for awhile, but Ann Curry just made it official: The journalist will no longer be co-hosting Today. Curry was obviously choked up as she explained that while she will still be a part of the show, she'll have a new title and new position. No longer on the Today show couch, Curry will be traveling around the country and around the world reporting for NBC.
The Biebs is topping the charts once again, but his new album, Believe, has had slower sales than expected. Justin Bieber's album was expected to sell close to 500,000 copies in its first week, but in reality it sold 374,000. That number still gives the album the best first-week sales so far this year, which perhaps says more about the state of the recording industry rather than the enthusiasm of Beliebers.
Looks like Alec Baldwin plans to add kidnap victim to his resume. After his commitments to 30 Rock are over, the actor will star in the Broadway debut of Orphans, says EW. The play follows the story of two orphaned brothers who live in a Philadelphia row house and kidnap a rich, older man.
One former Playboy cover girl has something to say about Jenny McCarthy's new pictorial. Reality star Kendra Wilkinson did not mince words when it came to McCarthy posing at nearly 40 years old for Playboy, and told People, "she looks great." Hugh Hefner's ex-girlfriend went on to say that "she definitely has it, why not flaunt it?" Apparently you don't have to be catty to be a Playboy bunny.
Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen may garner praise from the Council of Fashion Designers of America, but the twins also have their detractors. PETA had some not very nice things to say about the sisters and their new patchwork animal fur backpack. According to PETA, "if it looks like a troll and acts like a troll, it's probably a Trollsen Twin—or someone wearing one of their new $16,000 totes." Yikes. For fans who want to look like a "Trollsen" but can't swing a five-figure price tag for a bag, their The Row collection also has the more affordable option of a plain, drawstring backpack for only $3,900. The twins have obviously come a long way from their Kmart days.
