Stellan Skarsgard Confirms Return For Thor 2

So far, the cast of last year's Thor have been slowly announced as returning for the upcoming sequel Thor 2. Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Tom Hiddleston were the first to be revealed as reprising their roles as Thor, Jane Foster, and Loki, respectively. In January, Jamie Alexander confirmed her return as the Asgardian warrior Sif, and then Idris Elba decided he'd confirm his return as Heimdall. Kat Dennings has said that she can't reveal whether she's coming back or not, and Joshua Dallas recently announced that he won't be returning.
Now Stellan Skarsgård is the latest to deliver casting news. "I will try to combine Thor 2 — which starts in August and goes through to the end of December — I will try to combine that with [director] Lars Von Trier's next project," Skarsgård told Hey U Guys. Of course, after also appearing in The Avengers, it would be more surprising for the Swedish actor to not appear in Thor 2.
Alan Taylor (Game of Thrones) will direct the sequel, which was written by Thor screenwriter Don Payne and Robert Rodat (Saving Private Ryan). The plot details are being kept under wraps, but Danish actor Mads Mikkelsen (Casino Royale, The Three Musketeers) was recently cast as the sequel's undisclosed villain, so there's that to look forward to as well.
