The Hobbit Wraps Principal Photography
Posted 07.06.12 by Mandy
There's good news today from Middle Earth. Director Peter Jackson announced on his Facebook page that he has wrapped principal photography on his two-part movie adaptation of J.R.R. Tolkien's The Hobbit.
We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!
Cheers, Peter J
Shooting for both An Unexpected Journey and There and Back Again took 266 days to complete, which was only slightly more than the 254 day shoot that was initially planned for the movies. Luckily for the cast and crew, there were a couple of breaks in the shooting schedule.
Next Showing: The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Opens December 14.
