New Comic-Con Posters Arrive for Marvel Short Item 47 and The Expendables 2

Following the new posters revealed for The Hobbit and Pacific Rim, two more Comic-Con posters have arrived for the upcoming sequel The Expendables 2 and Marvel's latest short, Item 47.
Like its 2010 predecessor, The Expendables 2 will be another action movie star overload filled with guns, explosions and, who knows, maybe even a little story too. The latest poster for the sequel, revealed on the movie's Facebook page, gives Sylvester Stallone the focus and then shows Arnold Schwarzenegger and Bruce Willis, back in extended roles after their one-scene appearance in the original. From there, the rest of the Expendables crew is revealed, with Jason Statham getting the most poster space while Terry Crews, Randy Couture, Dolph Lundgren and newcomer Chuck Norris get considerably less space, though more than Jean-Claude Van Damme, who plays the sequel's villain, and Liam Hemsworth, who plays new Expendable Billy the Kid. It could be worse, as Jet Li and the other new Expendable, Yu Nan are nowhere to be found in the poster — unless they're in one of the helicopters, airplanes or tanks depicted at the bottom.
Part of Marvel's expanding line of shorts is Item 47, which gets its own poster for Comic-Con, where it will be screened on Friday night. Without another movie opening this year, Marvel's promotion of Item 47 is intended to highlight it's inclusion as a bonus feature in the upcoming DVD/Blu-Ray release of The Avengers. The short follows a young couple (Lizzy Caplan and Jesse Bradford) who find a leftover Chitauri weapon from the ending battle in The Avengers and decide to use it for dubious purposes, forcing S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to pursue them.
So how do fans check out Item 47? Easy! Just download Marvel's Avengers second screen app, follow a series of clues on the app starting Friday morning that will lead people around San Diego, and, eventually, you will probably find the screening! Like we said, easy!
The Expendables 2 opens on August 17th, while Item 47 (along with a trifle of a movie called The Avengers) will debut on September 25th.
