New Gangster Squad Trailer Blends Glamor and Grit

Today's Hot New Trailer
In the late 1940s glamor reached its epitome in Hollywood, but all that glitz had a tarnished underbelly. The newest trailer from Gangster Squad showcases the grittiness of the mob scene in the same era, and the contrast is stark. It's clear from this trailer of the upcoming movie based on actual events that the LAPD was more than willing to let go of their usual set of rules as they fought to keep East Coast mobsters like Mickey Cohen out of their city.
NEW: Honestly, this second trailer is mostly a shorter, tighter version of the first theatrical trailer. Though this second look at the movie is 40 percent shorter than the first, they seem to have not lost one firearm or fedora.
DIFFERENT:There's less emphasis on the squad in this trailer, and, as a result, more time is spent on the gangsters.
YAY: The sparks between Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone are just as electrifying as they were in last year's Crazy, Stupid, Love.
NAY: The prosthetics used to make Sean Penn look more like the gangster Mickey Cohen continue to be off putting.
