After weeks of speculation, Mariah Carey has signed on to be a judge on American Idol next season. She will be collecting the paltry sum of $18 million for the job. Carey is filling one of the two vacant judge seats left by Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler, who both opted not to return to the singing competition show, reportedly because ratings have been down. The announcement was made Monday by Fox President Kevin Reilly at the TV Critics Association. "I am so excited to be joining Idol," Carey told reporters over the phone. No word yet on who will fill the second judge's seat or if Randy Jackson will be returning.
Police were called to the Jackson family home Monday, responding to a call of alleged battery. It's unsure who made the call and who the allegations were made against. No arrests were made. TMZ posted photos of Janet Jackson and brother Jermaine Jackson in a heated argument outside the home. The family has been disputing over Michael Jackson's estate. Three of the siblings have signed a letter demanding the executors of Michael's estate step down. Last week matriarch Katherine Jackson was reported missing by a nephew but she was discovered to be resting at an Arizona spa. Some in the family believe Katherine was taken by her children to convince her to go with their plan to challenge Micheal's estate.
Demi Moore is reportedly "heartbroken" over ex Ashton Kutcher dating Mila Kunis. Though the two That '70s Show stars have said they were just friends, recent photos showing the two kissing pretty much ruined that cover. "Demi is devastated that Ashton has moved on so quickly and is dating Mila," a close friend of the 49-year-old actress told RadarOnline. "She is beyond heartbroken." The friend went on to say that even though Ashton often cheated on Demi, it was always with random girls.
Usually after celebrities are caught in a scandal, they hide in seclusion but not Fred Willard, who was reportedly caught with his pants down at an adult theater. The actor recently tweeted about the incident. "Wait til u hear my version; much more PG. & my review, lousy film, but theater would make a terrific racquetball court. Full story 2 follow." Willard will avoid any criminal charges provided he completes an alternative diversion program.
