New Featurette for The Bourne Legacy Shows How the Movie Relates to the Trilogy

Ever since Universal made plans to make a Bourne movie without Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass, fans have questioned how The Bourne Legacy, the fourth installment in the franchise, would relate to the previous trilogy. Jeremy Renner takes over for Damon as operative Aaron Cross in a story that co-writer/director Tony Gilroy has said answers the question, "What if Treadstone wasn't the only black-ops program?"
That means that Operation Outcome takes the place of Bourne's Operation Treadstone training program, and Legacy follows the fallout from the events of The Bourne Ultimatum. The action in Legacy actually takes place at the same time as Ultimatum, as pointed out by producer Frank Marshall in a new featurette. The video shows how Legacy relates to the previous trilogy and why Renner and Rachel Weisz are on the run from Edward Norton's CIA agent Byer in newly released footage. The featurette does contain some spoilers from the movie, so, unless you're a Damon fan that still needs some convincing to watch Legacy, be warned.
The Bourne Legacy was written by Tony and his brother Dan Gilroy. The movie co-stars returning Bourne actors Albert Finney, Joan Allen and David Strathairn, as well as newcomers Oscar Isaac (Robin Hood, Sucker Punch) and Stacy Keach.
