New Skyfall Olympic TV Spot Reveals Brief New Footage
Posted 07.29.12 by Ryan
Presumably, there are many who aren't watching coverage of the Olympics this weekend, but for those that caught the Opening Ceremony on the U.S. telecast were treated to a new TV spot for the latest James Bond movie, Skyfall. Luckily, for those that missed it, the spot has arrived online.
Little has been revealed about the 23rd installment in the James Bond franchise, other than the movie will see Bond's (Daniel Craig) loyalty to M (Judi Dench) tested when her past comes back to haunt her, and, while there is new footage revealed in the spot, the story behind the movie is not. Most of the footage will be familiar to those who saw the movie's first trailer, but the end of the spot shows Bond jump into the back of an exploded train car with ease and cool, and we're also shown the face of the villain Silva (Javier Bardem) — whom director Sam Mendes (Jarhead) has described as a "classic Bond villain" — for the briefest of half-seconds.
Skyfall was written by John Logan (The Aviator) and Neal Purvis and Robert Wade (Quantum of Solace, Casino Royale). The cast includes Ralph Fiennes as a "government agent" who is "darkly complex"; Naomie Harris as "a field agent" named Eve; Tonia Sotiropoulou as Bond's "girlfriend" (whatever that means); Helen McCrory as "a British Member of Parliament named Clair Dowar,"; Rory Kinnear, reprising his Quantum of Solace role as Bill Tanner, M's chief of staff; Ben Whishaw as weapons-maker Q; and Albert Finney as "a Foreign Office mandarin with powers over the Secret Intelligence Service."
Next Showing: Skyfall
