Why the Cuddly Ted Isn't for the Kiddies [video]

If someone were to only see a poster or two and some of the TV spots for this year's surprise hit comedy Ted, they might think it was a cute, family-friendly movie. With the movie centered around a cuddly, giant teddy bear, it's only a little surprising that reports have popped up that parents have taken their kids to the movie, and not notice the R-rating on the flick. The creator, stars, and fans of the movie all assure us that this one isn't for the elementary school set.
Though director and creator Seth MacFarlane claims it's more of a "soft-R" comedy as opposed to a "hard-R," he does not even try to contend that the raunchy flick doesn't deserve the rating. The movie is certainly "not for the young." Mark Wahlberg, who stars in the movie, says that he had to explain to his kids that even though this was a flick about him and a teddy bear, it was yet another movie of his that they couldn't see because "the teddy bear has a potty mouth."
