Red Dawn Remake Gets New Photos, Trailer Sneak Peek

The Red Dawn remake was actually shot back in 2009, years before Chris Hemsworth became a comic book hero in Thor and The Avengers and Josh Hutcherson was cast as Peeta Mallark in The Hunger Games. However, MGM's infamous financial troubles kept Red Dawn on the shelf with no release date in sight, until FilmDistrict picked up the remake last year for a planned fall 2012 release.
Like the 1984 original, a group of high school students decide to protect their town against a foreign invasion. Russia was aggressor in the original, while the remake originally intended for China to be the invaders until it was digitally changed to North Korea last year. With Red Dawn's November release still a few months away, FilmDistrict is still promoting the remake with a couple new photos of Hutcherson and Hemsworth in action, and a trailer sneak peek that aired on Enertainment Tonight.
As mentioned in the video, Red Dawn co-stars Connor Cruise (son of Tom), as well as Adrienne Palicki (the upcoming G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation), Josh Peck (ATM) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen). Written by Carl Ellsworth (The Last House on the Left), Red Dawn was helmed by first-time director Dan Bradley, who was the stunt coordinator and second unit director on the Bourne sequels.
