Today's Hollywood Headlines
There’s a royal link to this month’s Playboy cover girl. Katrina Darling, the burlesque dancer who is the second cousin, once removed, of Kate Middleton, will be featured on the magazine’s cover as well as in an eight-page pictorial. Katrina, who has never met her cousin Kate, made a name for herself by her very revealing burlesque show “God Save the Queen.” The magazine hits newsstands Friday.
Ryan Lochte has locked down his first post-Olympic TV gig, and it’s not a reality show. The swimmer will play himself in a one-episode guest star spot in the upcoming season of 90210. Chances are, Lochte will play a more well-spoken version of himself as writers will be giving him words to say.
It's a match made in heaven. Lindsay Lohan and Charlie Sheen will have cameos as the "world's hottest couple" in Scary Movie 5, and according to reports, at least one of their characters will be killed in the opening scene.
Kim Kardashian is headed to the big house, but fortunately (or unfortunately) it’s as her Drop Dead Diva character, Nikki Lepree. The episode featuring Kim in an orange jumpsuit airs August 26th.
In other Kim K. news, it turns out the celebutante does not have a fan in Jeremy Renner. In a recent interview with The Guardian, Renner mentioned that he never wanted to be famous and that he doesn't understand people who do aspire to fame. When a follow-up question was asked about the Kardashians, Renner rolled his eyes and said "Oh, all those ridiculous people with zero talent who spend their lives making sure everyone knows their name. Those stupid, stupid people."
In honor of what would have been her 100th birthday, PBS made an auto-tuned video of Julia Child. In “Keep on Cooking” Child extols the virtues of hot chocolate truffles, chickens, roasted potatoes and rosemary. The remix was created by John D. Boswell, aka melodysheep, who has previously remixed Bob Ross and Fred Rogers.
