Shia LaBeouf Says Steven Seagal Was an Inspiration

When most people think of Transformers actor Shia LaBeouf they probably don't think of legendary action-star
but when LaBeouf was a kid, it was Seagal who the burgeoning actor wanted to be.
interview with Parade Magazine,
LaBeouf, who stars in this week's Lawless, talked about his movie idol.
I would watch Steven Seagal movies and go into my room and try to beat my little teddy bear up, thinking I was him. And I would pull my curls back into a Seagal ponytail—which looked ridiculous, but I tried!
This isn't the first time LaBeouf has talked about wanting a ponytail like Seagal, who stars in Reelz's original drama True Justice.
In 2010, the actor talked about being a young Jewish kid with "Brillo pad" hair and wanting to look like Seagal.
Seagal was big for me. He had, like, three years where he was untouchable... His ponytail was the whole thing for me. I was a 12-year-old Jew. Looking at that ponytail, you wanted one.
Of course we all know it takes more than just a ponytail to be like Seagal. It also takes a bit of ass-whooping skills. For LaBeouf and others who want to be like Seagal, we recommend watching this clip after the jump:
