Dominic Monaghan and Ashley Bell Talk "Gore Packs" and Surviving The Day

It goes without saying that the major motivation of any character in a post-apocalyptic movie is staying alive, so it wasn't so surprising to hear Dominic Monaghan (X-Men Origins: Wolverine) describe his new movie, The Day, as a "survival movie." What was somewhat surprising is the variety and amount of blood — from "dry scab" blood and "bags" of blood to "gore packs," which just sounds nasty — that the cast members apparently got covered in during filming. Click on the video above for an exclusive interview with Monaghan and his co-star, Ashley Bell (The Last Exorcism).
The Day was written by neophyte screenwriter Luke Passmore and directed by Douglas Aarniokoski (Highlander: End Game). The cast includes Shawn Ashmore (Frozen), Michael Eklund (The Divide) and Shannyn Sossamon (The Heavy). It is now playing in select theaters.
