And you thought your family was weird.
There are those that might think that a movie titled Stoker might be a biopic about Dracula author Bram Stoker, but such is not the case with the upcoming horror thriller. Instead, Stoker centers on young India Stoker (Mia Wasikowska), who, after the death of her father, lives with her emotionally-distraught mother (Nicole Kidman). When her uncle Charlie (Matthew Goode) arrives to live with them, India becomes obsessed with her eccentric relative, who has eyes for her mother and deadly tendencies for anyone that gets in his way.

Written by actor Wentworth Miller (Prison Break, Resident Evil: Afterlife), Stoker seems like a difficult movie to describe. At least that's what Miller said when he was asked to do so a couple years ago. "It’s a horror film, a family drama and a psychological thriller, all wrapped up in one," Miller told Collider. "The jumping off point is actually [Alfred] Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt. So, that’s where we begin, and then we take it in a very, very different direction."
Stoker is the English-language debut of director Chan-wook Park (Oldboy) and co-stars Dermot Mulroney (The Grey, Jacki Weaver (Animal Kingdom) and Lucas Till (X-Men: First Class).
