Today's Hot Trailer: Second Silver Linings Playbook Trailer Reveals More Chemistry Between Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence

Crazy loves crazy.
Based on the 2008 novel by Matthew Quick, the first trailer for Silver Linings Playbook was released in June and was primarily interested in revealing the eccentric Pat Solitano (Bradley Cooper), a former teacher who, after losing his marriage and spending time in a mental institution, moves in with his parents (Robert De Niro and Jacki Weaver). The second trailer is still interested in selling audiences on Cooper's Pat, who is an Ernest Hemingway novel-length away from another meltdown until he meets Tiffany (Jennifer Lawrence), a neighbor who just lost her husband and might be looking for redemption just as much as Pat.

Silver Linings Playbook recently debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival to rave reviews, particularly of Cooper and Lawrence. THR said that "the chemistry between Cooper and Lawrence makes them a delight to watch," while Collider said that "the two can go through banter, soul-bearing, misunderstanding, and reconciliation all in the span of a single scene, and the transitions never feel awkward."
This is all pretty high praise for a movie that's being released just in time for "Oscar season," and a nomination or two wouldn't be something completely new for Lawrence (Winter's Bone), director David O. Russell (The Fighter), De Niro (Cape Fear) or Weaver (Animal Kingdom), though we're also keeping our fingers crossed the the performance of Chris Tucker, his first since 2007's Rush Hour 3, is nomination-worthy. Don't forget how good Tucker was, albeit briefly, in Jackie Brown.
We'll find out how good everyone is in Silver Linings Playbook on November 21st.
