"Hi, Ho, Silver!"...is not said in the trailer.
Disney's adaptation of The Lone Ranger has had a bumpy ride on its way to its 2013 release. First, the studio shut down production to bring down the movie's ballooning budget, but once production began, THR reported that director Gore Verbinski (the original Pirates of the Caribbean trilogy) quickly fell behind schedule and over its altered budget. The production also suffered the tragic loss of a crew member who passed away while preparing a water tank that was going to be used to shoot an underwater sequence.
At long last, audiences now have a chance to look at footage from the the movie, as Disney has finally released the first trailer for The Lone Ranger, the same one they surprisingly revealed at Comic-Con at the end of their panel. Starting with shots of trains, the trailer's voice-over is provided by Tom Wilkinson (The Kennedys), who plays railroad tycoon Latham Cole in the movie, and is concerned primarily with the invention of the railroad and the power that comes with controlling it. From there, we see brief shots of the Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) and his partner Tonto (Johnny Depp), who takes over as the voice of the trailer to discuss why "good men must wear masks."
