While audiences will certainly get their share of frights and shocks at movie theaters in the coming weeks, there are also quite a few alternatives to Liam Neeson's euro-thriller and October horror romps opening in the next few weeks, including the action-thriller Alex Cross, Disney's 3-D animated Wreck-It Ralph, and the 23rd James Bond movie Skyfall. All three releases have new preview clips that have arrived online, offering potential audiences a chance to plan their movie-watching accordingly.

Opening October 19th, Alex Cross will face some stiff competition from Paranormal Activity 4, the latest installment in a franchise that typically owns its opening weekend. Luckily, the movie should already have its own built-in fanbase. Based on one of a series of novels from author James Patterson, the character of Alex Cross has already been played by Morgan Freeman in 1997's Kiss the Girls and 2001's Along Came a Spider. Tyler Perry takes over as Patterson's police detective and psychologist in Alex Cross, and has a considerable foe to face in Michael "The Butcher" Sullivan (Matthew Fox), a former military officer turned cage-fighting serial killer who makes things personal for Cross. The latest clip reveals a tense conversation between the two where Cross promises to end Sullivan's existence.
Opening November 2nd, Disney's Wreck-It Ralph looks to be a real treat for families as well as avid gamers. The movie tells the story of fictional video game character Wreck-It Ralph (voiced by John C. Reilly), who has grown disenchanted with being the villain in his 8-bit home, the 1980s inspired Fix-It Felix Jr., and goes wandering through the video game landscape in hopes of becoming a hero instead. In the clip, Ralph journeys into a modern video game, the Halo meets House of the Dead game Hero's Duty.
Opening November 9th is Skyfall, the latest adventure for Britain's 007 (Daniel Craig). The latest installment follows Bond as his loyalty to M (Judi Dench) is tested when her past comes back to haunt her, but in the latest clip, it looks like Bond will have to find a way to survive the shot he takes from fellow agent Eve (Naomie Harris), who follows M's orders and fires a dangerous shot at Bond while he fights an adversary on the top of a train.
