New Skyfall Trailer Reveals More of the "Classic Bond Movie" Daniel Craig Has Promised

"Mommy was very bad."
Since the first trailer debuted for the upcoming 23rd James Bond movie Skyfall, the promotional footage revealed for the movie has tried not to reveal too much about the movie's plot. Outside of the synopsis, which said that Bond's (Daniel Craig) loyalty to M (Judi Dench) will be tested when her past comes back to haunt her, the clips and TV spots have avoided revealing how M's past "came back to haunt her." The latest trailer reveals just a bit more of the movie's plot, as it starts with Ralph Fiennes admonishing M for losing a vital source of information for Mi6.
Trailers, the latest trailers
Since more or less "rebooting" the James Bond franchise with 2006's Casino Royale, the past few James Bond movies have eschewed the classic Bond hallmarks, something that will change with Skyfall's introduction of the Aston Martin and, as revealed in the trailer, Bond's standard issue Walther PPK handgun. This all seems to play into Craig's recent promise that Skyfall is a "classic Bond movie."
"Casino [Royale] was about sort of beginning again, sort of wiping the slate clean," Craig told HitFix in an interview. "I felt very strongly that we had to kind of push out all of the old to try and get something new, which kind of some people didn't like so much, and I thought that was the only way, as did the producers. And we have. And now that we've come to this point, it's possible to hopefully make a classic Bond movie. And I think [director] Sam [Mendes]' done an incredibly good job at that. And we've got all the elements of all Bond movies, but something very modern as well. There's emotion, there's violence, there's action. There's all the things you need in a Bond movie, beautiful girls. It's all there.
Evidence of Craig's comments can be seen in Skyfall's latest clip, which sees Bond meets up with his new gadget expert Q (Ben Whishaw), who, as Bond points out, is decidedly younger than previous incarnations.
