Exclusive Trailer for Silent Hill: Revelation Counts the Five Steps to Hell

Getting to hell is more complicated than you'd think.
Whoever said that the road to hell is paved with good intentions apparently didn't remember the other steps involved, but the latest Reelz-exclusive trailer for Silent Hill: Revelation 3D fills in all five steps that are taken on the way to hell.
Of course, the old adage still rings true for the movie's plot, which sees Heather (Adelaide Clemens) travel to the foggy weirdness of Silent Hill in order to find her father (Sean Bean). Along the way she encounters giant blade-wielding guys with pyramid heads, mannequin spiders, faceless nurses, and pale young schoolgirls with black, soulless eyes. Sounds like hell to us!

Revelation is a sequel to 2006's Silent Hill with director Michael J. Bassett (Solomon Kane) taking over the franchise. The sequel is mostly based on Konami's Silent Hill 3 video game because, as Bassett told Bloody-Disgusting, it was the most "logical" game to adapt.
So I asked to get involved [in Revelation], and the logical thing to do for a sequel was to pick up after the five year gap from the first one. The little girl is now all grown up – so that means that the game Silent Hill 3 was the logical game to adapt into it. 1 and 3 sort of build off of each other, the mythologies are similar. The story of “The Order”, this cultish organization that has power over Silent Hill, they all play very nicely from the first movie and the third game into this movie.
As for choosing which monsters to include on the way to hell, Bassett told ShockTillYouDrop that he always looked to the games for inspiration.
The nurses are from the games. In some games, they are more distorted and more hunchbacked and more frightening. In the later games, they get sexier and sexier. And I love the idea that they are unbelievably sexy but absolutely hideous. The mannequin monster... is an original idea by me, but growing out of the use of mannequins in the games, because there's a kind of psuedo-mannequin monster in the games, but in the more elaborate, sophisticated way we put on the screen.
Written and directed by Bassett, Revelation co-stars Carrie-Anne Moss (The Matrix) as antagonist Claudia Wolf, the priestess of "The Order", Kit Harington (HBO's Game of Thrones) as Heather's friend Vincent and Malcolm McDowell as Leonard Wolf, Claudia's abusive father. Silent Hill actors Radha Mitchell and Deborah Kara Unger return in their respective roles.
