New Red Dawn TV Spot is Ready to Fight
11.01.12 by Ryan
Looks like this Thanksgiving is going to forgo the turkeys for some wolverines instead.
After spending years on the shelf due to MGM's financial issues, the first trailer for the remake of Red Dawn debuted in August, but promotion of the movie has been mostly quiet of late. That is, until a new TV spot arrived online. While we realize that remakes are often given a bad rap, the TV spot continues to tease the movie's action, which could please audiences looking for some escapism while they digest their Thanksgiving dinners.
Trailers to invade your brain

Unlike the 1984 original, North Korea (formerly China) will be the invading country in the remake, but, like the original, the new pack of Wolverines will be fighting for their country and saying patriotic things like, "this is our home." Shot before he was the god of thunder, Chris Hemsworth (Thor, The Avengers) will lead the team of young stars, which includes Josh Hutcherson (The Hunger Games), Connor Cruise (Seven Pounds) and Adrienne Palicki (the upcoming G.I. Joe 2: Retaliation), to fight the invading forces. And fight they do in the TV spot below.
A new clip from Red Dawn has also arrived online, courtesy of Entertainment Weekly. In the clip, Toni (Palicki) sets a trap for some of the invading soldiers, in an urban take on a scene from the original. Embedding is not allowed on the clip, so you can check it out here.
Written by Carl Ellsworth (The Last House on the Left), Red Dawn was directed by Dan Bradley (stunt coordinator and second unit director on the Bourne sequels) and co-stars Josh Peck (ATM) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Watchmen).
