"She is a carnivore, a desecrator of human flesh."
Journey back to the eve of D-Day to bear witness to one of Hitler's successful attempts to conjure occult forces in his quest for world domination.
The Flick: The Devil's Rock
The Skinny: After making his mark as a matte painter and texture painter on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Sin City and Clash of the Titans, Paul Campion traded his (digital) paint brushes for a camera, winning numerous awards for his first two horror shorts before making his feature debut with The Devil's Rock. Shot in New Zealand, with special makeup effects provided by Weta Workshop, the movie contains references to real historical events and occult documents supposedly recovered from the German fortifications on the Channel Islands.
The Players: Kiwi actors Craig Hall and Karlos Drinkwater star as Captain Ben Grogan and Sergeant Joe Tane, a pair of New Zealand commandoes on a sabotage mission to the Channel Islands designed to draw Hitler's attention away from Normandy. What they discover is a mad plot by Hitler to summon a demon (Gina Varela) from the pits of hell to aid the Third Reich in taking over the world. Matthew Sunderland and Luke Hawker also star.
