Extreme Fans: Iron Man 3 Trailer Gets Sweded
11.14.12 by Ryan
The first trailer for Iron Man 3 was released late last month, and it was only a matter of time before extreme fan Bryan Harley and his crew at DumbDrum made their own "sweded" version of the trailer, much like the trailer they made for The Avengers earlier this year.
And what does "sweded" mean? Check Be Kind Rewind for a more detailed explanation, but it essentially means using cardboard costumes, toys and other household objects to create a shot-for-shot remake of the Iron Man 3 trailer. Harley and crew make the most of their miniscule (or non-existent) budget, including a man-made score and sound effects, to bring the Iron Man 3 trailer to life (in someone's living room and backyard).
For comparison's sake, here's the actual Iron Man 3 trailer below.
Iron Man 3 | Guy Pearce | Gwyneth Paltrow | Robert Downey Jr. | Movie Trailer | Review
Iron Man 3 was adapted by director Shane Black (Kiss Kiss Bang Bang) with screenwriter Drew Pearce and was loosely based on comic book writer Warren Ellis' Extremis storyline from the Iron Man comic books. Robert Downey Jr. returns as Tony Stark in a story where Stark's life is turned upside down by The Mandarin (Ben Kingsley). Gwyneth Paltrow, Don Cheadle and Jon Favreau return as Pepper Potts, James "Rhodey" Rhodes/War Machine and Happy Hogan, respectively, while franchise newcomers include Rebecca Hall as Dr. Maya Hansen and Ashley Hamilton and James Badge Dale co-starring as cyborgs Firepower and Coldblood, respectively.
