"Welcome to the program."
Strap yourself in and get ready for a wild ride as a shadowy black ops agency attempts to eliminate its own super spies to keep the existence of the top-secret procedures used to create them from going public.
The Flick: The Bourne Legacy
The Skinny: Tony Gilroy, the award-winning screenwriter who adapted the characters and situations created by author Robert Ludlum in writing The Bourne Identity, The Bourne Supremacy and The Bourne Ultimatum continues the franchise sans rogue Treadstone operative Jason Bourne (Matt Damon), both writing and directing the fourth chapter. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Legacy made enough of a profit that Universal Pictures is planning sequels.
The Players: Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) picks up the Bourne ball and runs with it as Aaron Cross, a covert operative from a program similar to the one that created Bourne, but with the added benefit of having his mental and physical capabilities enhanced through "chems" and genetic tinkering. Edward Norton stars as a CIA fixer named Byer whose solution to the problem of how to cover up the Operation Outcome program that created Cross is to kill everyone, including Outcome scientist Stephanie Snyder (Rachel Weisz). David Strathairn, Albert Finney, Joan Allen, Scott Glenn, Stacy Keach and Oscar Isaac also star.
