"You been working out?"
With the acting comeback of Arnold Schwarzenegger in full swing, the first box office test for the former California governor comes with January's The Last Stand, which sees Arnold as a small-town sheriff who must stop an escaped drug kingpin and his gang from crossing the border. Schwarzenegger won't be backed up by any of the Expendables this time, but the latest trailer introduces his latest team, which includes Johnny Knoxville (Jackass 3D) as the comic relief, and Luis Guzman (Boogie Nights), Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Rodrigo Santoro (300), and Zach Gilford (Friday Night Lights) as Schwarzenegger's deputies.
Capturing the latest trailers
The Last Stand is one of several movies Schwarzenegger has lined up for 2013. Next up is Schwarzenegger attempting to break out of prison with Sylvester Stallone in September 27's The Tomb while the Governator will play a DEA operative in End of Watch director David Ayer's action-thriller Ten.
Then there's Legend of Conan, which will see Schwarzenegger return to the role of Conan for the first time since 1985's Red Sonja. The movie won't see Schwarzenegger "going out and fighting battles," according to what screenwriter-producer Chris Morgan (Fast Five, Wanted) told The LA Times earlier this month, but will see Conan "drawn into something" that requires him "to access the barbarian he was in his youth."
In the meantime, it's up to The Last Stand to prove audiences want Arnold "back" (ahem, sorry), so, for a better look, check out the extended trailer below.
