"I believe in fitness."
Director Michael Bay has wanted to make the upcoming body-building comedy Pain & Gain since 2009, when he said he wanted to make a "small movie" in between shooting Transformers" Revenge of the Fallen and what would become Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Clearly, Paramount was able to convince Bay to stick with the Autobots for a bit longer than he initially planned, but, with the arrival of Pain & Gain's first trailer, it looks like Bay is on track to finally deliver his passion project next year, right before Bay starts shooting, you guessed it, Transformers 4.

Pain & Gain follows Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Anthony Mackie as three Miami-based personal trainers who decide to get rich by extorting money from a rich businessman (Tony Shalhoub). As the trailer reveals, steroids do not build competent criminals.
Wahlberg and Bay will reunite for Transformers 4, something that Wahlberg said came out from working together on Pain & Gain. "We kind of complemented each other throughout the entire process," Wahlberg recently told Collider. "What he does and what I do and what we were able to do together, and then after that I was like ‘Dude we gotta work together again,’ and he was like, ‘Well I got a project, you interested?’"
Based on a true story, Pain & Gain was adapted by screenwriters Stephen McFeely and Christopher Markus from a series of Miami New Times articles by Pete Collins. Ed Harris and Rebel Wilson co-star.
