QuickClick: 2013 Movie Trailer Mashup
01.03.13 by Ryan
A quick peek into what lies ahead this year.
Now that 2012 is behind us (and the Mayans were wrong), 2013 is rolling ahead as scheduled (and like most of us assumed it would). That means a whole new year of movies are scheduled to open, starting this Friday. However, to help us prepare for the coming onslaught of sequels, reboots and potential franchise starters, YouTube user M Walls has put together a 2013 movie trailer mashup (via ScreenRant) that includes footage from
Man of Steel, Iron Man 3, Lone Ranger, World War Z, After Earth, Oblivion, Gangster Squad, G.I. Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain, Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters, and Star Trek Into Darkness and reveals a taste of what audiences have to look forward to in the coming year.
While the video is by no means comprehensive in its inclusion of 2013 releases, the creator specified that the movies included are the ones he's most excited about that had a trailer available — December's The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug has no trailer yet, for instance.
As for the releases included in the video, Gangster Squad is the first to be released on January 11th, while Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters will follow on the 25th. G.I. Joe: Retaliation arrives March 29th, while Oblivion opens on April 12th and Pain & Gain opens on April 26th. Iron Man 3 will kick off the summer releases, opening in the late spring date of May 3rd, while Star Trek Into Darkness will follow on May 17th. June is packed with releases, including After Earth (June 7), Man of Steel (June 14) and World War Z (June 21). Lone Ranger then opens on July 3rd.
We admit we're also excited about the releases of Pacific Rim (July 12th) and Evil Dead (April 12) — among others — so we've included their respective trailers for good measure.
