"9-1-1, what's your emergency?"
Halle Berry seems to be appearing in more genre movies of late, including this year's sci-fi epic Cloud Atlas and the straight-to-DVD, shark thriller Dark Tide, and will stay in the thriller genre for the upcoming The Call.
The first trailer for the movie has just been released, revealing Berry as a 911 operator who accepts a call from an abducted girl (Abigail Breslin), who may be the victim of a serial killer that Berry has history with.

Originally set for director Joel Schumacher (Trespass) until he was removed, The Call (formerly The Hive) was directed by Brad Anderson (Transsiberian), who knows a thing or two about scary movies after directing 2001's Session 9 and 2010's Vanishing on 7th Street. "This script has two elements I always look for in a thriller — strong, believable female characters and a smart, very dark and very creepy story that will definitely resonate with large audiences," Anderson told Variety after landing the gig last January. We'll see if he's right when The Call opens on March 15.
