"It's important to enjoy life while you still can."
2010 was a big year for aging action heroes with the release of both RED and The Expendables. However, instead of a group of work-for-hire mercenaries, RED followed a group of retired CIA agents (the title stood for "Retired, Extremely Dangerous") led by Bruce Willis who reassemble after they discover that the agency is out to eliminate Willis. The results were better than expected, with RED earning nearly $200 million worldwide — far above expectations — which can only mean one thing in Hollywood: sequel.

In RED 2, Willis' Frank is again retired (re-retired?) and living the good life with Sarah (Mary-Louise Parker) until he is reluctantly reunited with John Malkovich and Dame Helen Mirren for a global mission that entails finding a missing nuclear device and fighting international terrorists. The sequel's first trailer isn't worried about plot necessarily, instead focusing on revealing that the light-hearted tone of the original is going to be a cornerstone of the follow-up, particularly when it comes to Malkovich's penchant for explosives and the tension that occurs between Willis and Parker once his former love interest (Catherine Zeta-Jones) arrives.
RED 2 was written by RED screenwriters Jon and Erich Hoeber and was directed by Dean Parisot (Galaxy Quest). The cast includes Neal McDonough (Captain America: The First Avenger), Byung Hun Lee (G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra) and Anthony Hopkins (Thor).
