"I'm coming to get you."
Take a trip to Paris to follow a wayward police officer who crosses the wrong mobster and is forced to surrender a massive bag of stolen cocaine or risk losing his son.
The Flick: Sleepless Night (Nuit Blanche)
The Skinny: Co-written (with Nicolas Saada) and directed by Frédéric Jardin (The Sister Brothers), this gripping French crime thriller held its world premiere during the "Midnight Madness" portion of the 2011 Toronto International Film Festival, where it received rave reviews (it currently holds an astonishingly high 96% approval rating on aggregate review site RottenTomatoes). It was distributed in the U.S. by Tribeca Film and an English-language remake is currently in development at Warner Bros.
The Players: Tomer Sisley (The Burma Conspiracy) stars as Vincent, a respected French cop who tries to play both sides of the fence by stealing a large bag of cocaine from a recent drug bust. This puts him at odds with nightclub owner and drug kingpin Jose Marciano (Serge Riaboukine), who kidnaps Vincent's son and holds him as collateral until his drugs are returned to him. This is easier said than done as Vincent discovers the drugs he stole have gone missing.
