Shhh, ninjas are fighting.
G.I. Joe fans: the wait is almost over. After a nine month delay, G.I. Joe: Retaliation will finally enter theaters in March, and studio Paramount is anxious to get the word out. The sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra had its promotional campaign start last summer, but, after the delay, trailers have been released on a seemingly weekly basis, with the latest trailer focusing almost entirely on action. It starts with the conflict between Snake Eyes (Ray Park) and Storm Shadow (Lee Byung-Hun) that includes a mountainside escape from a pack of ninjas and ends with Roadblock (Dwayne Johnson) and General Joe Colton (Bruce Willis) avoid explosions and drive tanks.

Besides converting Retaliation to 3D, one of the supposed reasons behind the delay was to add more Channing Tatum, whose character of Duke is one of the few holdovers from Rise of Cobra. The previous trailer added more Tatum, where previously the actor's appearance in promotional footage was brief, but, reportedly, adding more Tatum was not the studio's priority for the delay.
According to producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Retaliation only did reshoots for "three extra days" which were not Tatum-centric. "I don’t know where that started," the producer told Crave Online earlier this month."Literally, Channing shot for — if I have it wrong, I’m off by an hour — four hours, five hours? So it wasn’t really about that at all."
G.I. Joe: Retaliation will open on March 29th in 3-D and 2-D, as well as a recently announced release on IMAX 3D. The sequel was written by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Zombieland) and co-stars D.J. Cotrona as Flint and Adrianne Palicki as Lady Jaye.
