"You think I'm not serious just because I carry a rabbit?"
Embark on a wild trip through La La Land as a struggling screenwriter finds himself the target of both a serial killer and a violent gangster because of his friend's poor judgment.
The Flick: Seven Psychopaths
The Skinny: Celebrated playwright and Academy Award-winner Martin McDonagh (short film Six Shooter) wrote, directed and co-produced this inspired black comedy as a follow-up to his first feature, In Bruges. It premiered at the 2012 Toronto International Film Festival to positive reviews and, while it received a lukewarm reception at the box office, is already on its way to becoming a cult classic.
The Players: Colin Farrell stars as Marty Faranan, a writer struggling to finish his screenplay, Seven Psychopaths, having only created one psychopath so far. Marty's friend, Billy (Sam Rockwell), attempts to help him with his screenplay by placing an ad in the newspaper requesting that "psychopaths" share their stories, prompting a serial killer (Tom Waits) to pay them a visit. As if that's not bad enough, Marty also becomes the target of a violent and unpredictable gangster (Woody Harrelson) after Billy his friend Hans (Christopher Walken) kidnap the gangster's prized Shih Tzu. Olga Kurylenko, Gabourey Sidibe and Abbie Cornish also star.
